Playing With Die Cuts

This is actually something I made earlier in the summer. I was at the LSS and they had a lot of really cute die cuts…. I guess I had just never paid attention to them before. I decided to cut a few out and see what I could do with them.
I cut out three of the palm tree shape... once in brown and once with two different shades of green (for added dimension).

I left the brown tree completely in tact so I could use it as a base to adhere everything to. I cut the top off the two green trees and used ink to add detail to the edges. I added detail to the trunk of the tree with a black marker and then used ink (on a cotton tip) for shading. Then I used a circle punch to punch 3 circles from brown cardstock to create the coconuts.

When I glued everything back together, I flipped one of the tree tops in the opposite direction for some added dimension. I think it turned out pretty cute. I may have to experiment with some other die cuts.

All the papers in the background are leftover paper scraps.... have to find some way to use up all those scraps. LOL

Thanks for looking.

Lisa
