A Happy Little Snowman

This little guy just makes me happy. He is actually not a stamp... I was poking around with some doodle fonts and came across this little guy. I thought he would be perfect for a winter card. I printed him out on white cardstock and colored him with markers. I used the Julee's Mojo Monday sketch #62 for the layout. Thanks for looking.

Golden Angels

I stamped and embossed these angels intending to use them on last weeks sketch challenge card... but they were too big. However, I couldn't just let them sit on my desk unused, so here is a very simple card. The gold paper is a handmade paper I found on clearance at Hobby Lobby and I used a cuttlebug embossing folder for the background. Thanks for looking!

Snowman Merry Christmas

I love this little snowman image. I joined the Wish RAK over on Split Coast and this is my very first RAK... Thank you, Tina (meluvstampin).

I used Taylor's sketch for this card, be sure to check Split Coast to see everyone elses take on this sketch... there are some very talented ladies over there.
All the metal pieces are from Making Memories. I colored the snowman with Prismacolor Pencils and markers and added black brads for the buttons. I felt like he needed to be grounded, so I tore a piece of white CS, added Stickles to the torn edge and adhered it to the bottom of the image for a snow look. Thanks for looking.

Noel Embossed Christmas Card

I found a package of handmade paper by Black Ink on clearance at Hobby Lobby... so I HAD to buy it and I think it worked perfectly with this card. I used the sketch from the sketch challenge on Split Coast for this card. I stamped Noel with Versamark ink and embossed it with ultra fine detail gold embossing powder. The first time I embossed this stamp, I used gold glitter embossing powder and it lost a lot of the detail (see it here). I think it turned out so much better with with the ultra fine embossing powder. We learn as we go... right?
I had stamped and embossed three angels for the three squares on the bottom of this card, however they didn't work out for the size of this card. I will use them on another card today. Thanks for looking.

Happy Holidays

I used Beate's sketch for this card and I also used one of the past color challenges on Split Coast (Kraft, Soft Sky and Black). I used Bazzill cardstock for the soft sky and black SU! colors.

I stamped the poinsettia stamp on the smooth side of the blue cardstock using versamark and embossed with black embossing powder. The Happy Holidays sentiment is a rub-on... don't remember where it came from. I used the coluzzle template to cut the circles. Thanks for looking!

Ink: Versamark
Stamp: Magnolia
Accessories: Black Embossing Powder, Blue crystals, Rub-On sentiment
Tools: Coluzzle

Work It Girl!

I love this stamp set from The Angel Company, it's called Tickled Pink and comes with 4 different Flamingos and 6 sayings... so cute! I used Jen Del Muro's sketch for this card. She has a sketch every Saturday on her blog... go check it out.

I made this card for my sister because I know it will make her laugh. :-) What are sisters for... right? The bling was actually clear and I colored them black with a sharpie marker. The flamingo was colored with Prismacolor pencils. The sentiment that came with the stamp set was smaller than I wanted for this card, so I used Publisher to create my own then cut it out with Coluzzle cirlcl template and used a scallop circle nestabilities to mat it on.

I sewed on this card with my Janome Sew Mini... I love this machine, it is so light weight and easy to use. A little enabling... they are on sale this week at Hancocks. :-)

Thanks for looking.

A Birthday Card

We have several birthdays in my family during the months of November and December, so I thought I had better get started on some birthday cards. I used Amy's Friday Sketch #36 for this card... go check out all the cards on her blog, you will be glad you did. :-)

The cupcake is a Sizzix die that I cut out several times and pieced together. I also added some stickles to the icing. I couldn't come up with anything for the three elements in a row on the left side of the sketch, so I used a flourish die cut by Quikutz instead. Thanks for looking.

Accessories: Stickles, crystals from Hobby Lobby, Happy Birthday rub-on unknown, white gel pen

Noel Christmas Card

I found this stamp way back in the corner of a drawer while looking for something else... I had completely forgotten I had it. I purchased it several years ago and have never used it, so it was definitely time to introduce it to the ink pad. I used a sketch from Taylored Expressions for this card... be sure to check out her store, she has some way cute stamps. Here is the sketch
... and here is my card. The stamp is by PSX, stamped in Versamark and empossed with gold glitter embossing powder, then colored with markers. The gems were clear, and I colored them black with a black shapie. Thanks for looking!

A Couple of Cards

I created both cards for Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge #64

I made the Cornucopia card first and was not happy with the way it turned out so I tried again with the Smile card.

Cornucopia stamp is from Inkadinkadoo, colored with pencils. Cardstock is Bazzill, ribbon is Offray. Smile card is made from scraps. Thanks for looking.

Blue Poinsettia

Every Wednesday, my friend Carole and I meet at our LSS (ScrapHappys) to visit and work on our projects. Last Wednesday I purchased some Pearlescent Watercolors and water brushes while I was there and yesterday I decided to give them a try.

I love the look of blue and silver together and decided that is what I would use on this poinsettia stamp. I stamped the poinsettia twice with Versamark on blue cardstock (Bazzill, I used the smooth side) and embossed them both with silver glitter embossing powder. Next I colored them with the Pearlescent Watercolors, cut them apart and layered them with dimensionals. I used the large square and scallop Nestibilities for the mat and more of the silver glitter embossing powder on the edges of the blue mats. The Pearlescent Watercolors really added a lot of shimmer to the poinsettia… the photo just doesn’t capture it that well. Thanks for looking.
