Just Because...

I wanted to something besides a Christmas card, so I pulled out some scraps to see what I could come up with. This card was created using Amy's sketch. The sentiment and flower are both rub-on's. Thanks for looking.

Gift Box for Card Set

I ended up with 16 cards from the gift set in yesterday's post, so I split them into 2 sets of 8 and made a couple of gift boxes using this template. I used the rest of the rub-on sheet left over from the cards and the remaining paper. This was a very quick and easy set to put together.

Thanks for looking.

Card Gift Set

I needed to make a gift set for a Christmas gift and I wanted it to be quick and easy, so I used one of Julee's sketches from Verve Stamps. Here's the sketch...

And my cards...

I had a sheet of Rub-On's of various sayings... Happy Birthday, Thinking of you, Thank you, and Congratulations in various fonts. I used the Rub-On's on a matching set of cards... I thought it would make a nice gift set. Tomorrow I will make a matching box to gift them in. Thanks for looking.

A Bunch of Beautiful Cards...

I tried to create a few cards today for various sketch challenges and it just was not coming together for me. All my attempts ended up in the reject pile, so I decided to share some beautiful cards I received from some of my online buddies.

This first one is from Erin (aka Fishlips)... I love this image and the pearls she added for buttons are fabulous. She also included a few stamped images for me. Thank you, Erin... you are so generous.

Thinking of You... this one is from Rebecca (aka Truckerswife), from the birthday wish RAK on SCS. Thank you, Rebecca... it was so thoughtful of you to think of me. Your card made me smile. :-)

This one is from Belinda. You can't tell from the photo, but the ink has a pearl shimmer to it... so pretty! Thank you, Belinda for thinking of me, it is so fun to get cards in the mail. :-)

This card is from Lyn... how did she know pink is my favorite color? Such a beautiful card with lots of detail. Thank you, Lynn! :-)

This card is from Monika (aka AGMommyof2) from the birthday wish RAK over on SCS. I just love the Bella stamps and this is one of the images on my wish list now. Beautiful card! Thank you, Monika!

This one is from Lori (aka artsylori) from the birthday wish RAK on SCS. Love the colors she used and the Nestibilities die.... I must buy that die. :-) Thank you, Lori for thinking of me. Your card is beautiful.
Hopefully, tomorrow I will be able to acutally make something. :-)

A Christmas Card and a Birthday Card

So Tuesday was my birthday and my friend Carole gave me the nicest gift. I am a shoe fanatic... I have a closet full of them, and that is why her gift is so perfect. These are just the cutest stamps, and she made the little gift box... fabulous!!! The stamp on the left is Tara Reed and the stamp on the right is Stampendous.

Now for my cards. I used Amy's weekly sketch at Prairie Paper and Ink. For the Sundae Shoes, I added liquid applique for the whipped topping and Crystal Effects for the hot fudge. For the snowman, I used the faux watercolor technique I saw on this blog. It is so easy to do... you must try it. :-) I also added some pearlescent watercolor to the snowman for a little glimmer.

and here is Amy's sketch.

Split Coast Sketch Challenge

A couple of Thank You cards using SCS Sketch 205... This is such an easy sketch to work with, I ended up making two cards. The first one was also for a Verve challenge on Papercraft Planet to make a black & white card. Wow! That's two challenges in one card... a first for me. :-)

This next card I used a sheet of paper that I have had for a while. I bought one of those stacks of paper from DCWV and it had a few of these photo type papers. I really liked this sepia tone daisy print, but had no idea how I was going to use it. I think it worked perfectly wiht this weeks sketch. Thanks for looking.

OCC Sketch Challenge

This weeks challenge at Our Creative Corner is a sketch challenge... and they will be giving away a prize, so go check it out. I really like this sketch and will probably do a few more cards with it. For this card I used an image from the Perky Penguins set by The Angel Company... these penguins are so cute! I colored the image with markers and added some stickles on the fur trim of his hat and a little stickles for snow under his feet.
Here is a close up of the snowflake... I die cut a snowflake (an old Sizzix die I had) then layered a metal snowflake (Making Memories), a button, some ribbon (Offray) and a charm (Making Memories). Thanks for looking.

Nativity Cards

I finally used the rest of this dp... I think I ended up with about ten cards from this paper. I found this Nativity stamp on one of the auction sites and couldn't wait to use it. I added a tiny Heidi Swapp flower bling to the center of the star.

I stamped the gingerbread man with versamark on kraft cardstock and embossed with white embossing powder. The swirl is a Sizzix Sizzlet die. Thanks for looking.

The Angels Said...

This card is based on Julee's Mojo Monday sketch #63. I used an old Fiskars border punch that I have had for years. This punch had not seen the light of day in quite some time and therefore did not want to punch. I got out some wax paper and punched it a few times and now it works like a charm. Both images are stamped in versamark and embossed with ultra fine gold embossing powder. Thanks for looking.

Warm & Cozy Wishes

I admit it... I was too lazy to clean my desk, so here is yet another card using the same papers as the last two posts. Tomorrow you will get to see one more card with these papers... I am now totally sick of looking at this paper. It is amazing how many cards you can make out of one 12x12 sheet of dp. There is still enough left for a few more cards, however I think it is time to retire it to the scrap drawer.

This card follows the sketch challenge over on split coast. I paper pieced the sweater and yarn and colored Mr. Fluffles with Prismacolor pencils. Thanks for looking.

A Happy Little Snowman

This little guy just makes me happy. He is actually not a stamp... I was poking around with some doodle fonts and came across this little guy. I thought he would be perfect for a winter card. I printed him out on white cardstock and colored him with markers. I used the Julee's Mojo Monday sketch #62 for the layout. Thanks for looking.

Remember being young, believing in Santa, and the magic of Christmas? The excitement... the anticipation... that is what this stamp reminds me of. This card was made using Julee's Mojo Monday sketch #61. I stamped him with StazOn ink and colored his face and eyes with Prismacolor pencils. Thanks for looking.

Golden Angels

I stamped and embossed these angels intending to use them on last weeks sketch challenge card... but they were too big. However, I couldn't just let them sit on my desk unused, so here is a very simple card. The gold paper is a handmade paper I found on clearance at Hobby Lobby and I used a cuttlebug embossing folder for the background. Thanks for looking!

Star Book

I found the cutest star book on Becca Feeken's blog... and she has an amazing tutorial. You NEED to check it out. :-)

So my friend Carole and I decided we must create this little star book, and we think they really turned out cute. You can see Carole's here. I think I am going to put photos of my spoiled rotten little dog in mine. Thanks for looking!

Snowman Merry Christmas

I love this little snowman image. I joined the Wish RAK over on Split Coast and this is my very first RAK... Thank you, Tina (meluvstampin).

I used Taylor's sketch for this card, be sure to check Split Coast to see everyone elses take on this sketch... there are some very talented ladies over there.
All the metal pieces are from Making Memories. I colored the snowman with Prismacolor Pencils and markers and added black brads for the buttons. I felt like he needed to be grounded, so I tore a piece of white CS, added Stickles to the torn edge and adhered it to the bottom of the image for a snow look. Thanks for looking.

Noel Embossed Christmas Card

I found a package of handmade paper by Black Ink on clearance at Hobby Lobby... so I HAD to buy it and I think it worked perfectly with this card. I used the sketch from the sketch challenge on Split Coast for this card. I stamped Noel with Versamark ink and embossed it with ultra fine detail gold embossing powder. The first time I embossed this stamp, I used gold glitter embossing powder and it lost a lot of the detail (see it here). I think it turned out so much better with with the ultra fine embossing powder. We learn as we go... right?
I had stamped and embossed three angels for the three squares on the bottom of this card, however they didn't work out for the size of this card. I will use them on another card today. Thanks for looking.

Happy Holidays

I used Beate's sketch for this card and I also used one of the past color challenges on Split Coast (Kraft, Soft Sky and Black). I used Bazzill cardstock for the soft sky and black SU! colors.

I stamped the poinsettia stamp on the smooth side of the blue cardstock using versamark and embossed with black embossing powder. The Happy Holidays sentiment is a rub-on... don't remember where it came from. I used the coluzzle template to cut the circles. Thanks for looking!
